Change equipment affiliation from one bay to another

In Helinks STS, the single line diagram is created using the following hierarchy:

  1. Substation

  2. Voltage Level

    1. BusBar

  3. Bay

  4. Equipment

By respecting hierarchy, the SSD file is created properly. However, sometimes the users create a piece of equipment under the incorrect bay and look for a way to fix it.

The picture below shows how the disconnector is assigned to the bay IncA1 where the correct assignment would be to the bay IncB1.

In order to change the parent level of DIS1 from IncA1 to IncB1 the following steps have to be followed:

  1. Delete DIS1 in its current state.

  2. Click on IncB1 so it is highlighted.

  3. Create another disconnecting switch from the “Power Equipment Library“.

  4. Add the disconnecting switch to the single line diagram.

  5. Check the equipment “Id“ in its properties and see if it is correct.

The main issue is that whatever function that was created for this equipment is now gone and has to be created again (unless it is taken from the library). Also, if a bay is made under the incorrect logical node, it has to be deleted and made again which means loss of progress and time.

So, users need to be extremely careful about how they are creating the single line diagram pay attention to the substation hierarchy.
