Function specification

Each object represented on the Single Line Diagram can be completed with a detailed functional specification. This functional specification is accessed by double clicking the object. The functional specification is done by creating a Function Specification Diagram.

The Function Specification Diagram allows the user to :

  • Define Function to group Logical Nodes on an Higher level

  • Allocate Logical Nodes

  • Select Data Objects and Data Attributes from Logical Nodes to be used for communication(GOOSE, SV, Report) and documentation purpose

  • Create virtual IEDs

  • Map Logical Nodes to IEDs

  • Map virtual IEDs to real IEDs

  • Add documentation references and text blocks to each element on the drawing.

Type of function

In the palette of the Function Specification Diagram there exist 2 types of function :

  • Function related to conducting equipment which are related to a specific conducting equipment

  • Generic function which are related to the opened object e.g. the Bay

Conducting Equipment Function

There are related to the conducting equipment to which it refers.

An icon is located next to the function to express this membership.

The name of the conducting equipment is shown in the header of the function.

Generic function

There are related to the opened object e.g. the Bay. There are used to represent grouping of Logical Node which are not related to a conducting Equipment.
