Helinks STS-2024-07 V3.11.0 semi annual release notes
Communication Configuration:
the communication configuration can now be run incrementally. There have been options added to control exactly what type of artifacts get modified or preserved in incremental mode
in incremental mode, there is now an option to preserve data set order - when checked, new signals will be appended to their data sets instead of the regular sorting. Manual changes to FCDA order via the Communications Editor are also preserved. In order to keep FCDA indices unchanged, deleting signals from an application will not cause their FCDA to be deleted - this must be done manually in the Communications Editor
the communication configuration now respects now ExtRef attributes for sender preferences (pLN, pDO, pDA)
Minor bugs and improvements:
Input list columns are now editable
Application template validation was slowing the program down on older machines - should be much more performant now
Partial support for 90-30 extension ( SpecificationLNode and SourceRef / ControlRef ), use command line argument ‘--features IEC61850_6_100’ to enable
Fixed issue with long installation paths blocking launch
Added additional power transformer symbols
clarified that the APP ID should be in hex format
Variable <ied.devicerole> to refer to virtual IED roles is now properly resolved
when creating an application template, the signal process names are now used to suggest role ids (was IEC61850 data before)
fixed a problem with Copy & Pasted elements losing their electrical connections when added to the library
improved creation of Substation hierarchy by importing IO lists
improved reverse engineering and ExtRef handling for Editition 1 devices
increased default RAM allocation to better accomodate reasonably large projects - this may cause problems launching STS on older machines with not enough RAM or older operating systems
fixed a problem in applications when signals or inputs are deleted and recreated before the applications have been opened
automatic mapping of substation LNode to IED LN now only modifies unmapped LNodes
// TO VERIFY:
// TODO Elaborate further
Loading updated ICD files for existing IEDs
if the iedType attribute changed in the ICD file, a dialog will show that allows preserving the current iedType. This is typically used when replacing IED specifications with real IEDs
if the number or names of access points have changed, the import wizard shows an additional step that allows mapping the new access points to previously existing ones
if IP addresses are part of the ICD file (they shouldn’t), they can be optionally ignored in favor of the IP addresses assigned in the project
Later Binding
there is now a right-click menu option on the virtual IED that shows all assigned (later bound) ExtRefs, and allows editing them in a more accessible way
the editing dialog also supports import/export in excel format for quicker setting or transfer of bindings
Improved handling of message supervision
In the Communication Editor, the tabs LGOS, LSVS, Goose Matrix and Sampled Value Matrix now allow improved assignment of supervision nodes
ComConf now properly preserves user-assigned LGOS/LSVS
Application templates
existing application templates can now be updated with a new version from the library. This operation preserves overridden parameters, participants, and connection matrices.
the fields in the application role editing dialog can now be more easily selected for editing - it is no longer necessary to select the role
In the participant edit dialog, it is now possible to select a (single) logical node for an input role. If not enough logical nodes are present when automatically adding connections, new inputs will be created in that logical node without requiring further user confirmation
Client configuration
Report Client logical nodes now have a different dialog behind the “Configure LNode” context action. Via this dialog, it is now possible to create a custom protocol, using a customized table definition (.ptd file) and excel export template. This allows accessing data specific to only this protocol and exporting it in a well defined format.
Application editor
it is now possible to send all signals of a function to the same destination by drawing a connection from the sending to the receiving function
IED support
added F850 to known devices for GE Multilin
better recognition for Siemens 7UT87
added SEL411L_2S for Schweitzer Engineering Labs
improved recognition of Micom series device
improved handling of later binding and ExtRef usage for SEL devices
