How to run a Helinks Web Demo

This page describes how to run a Helinks STS web demo.

  1. Give a short Introduction on Helinks and on the Engineering Process (Slides)

  2. Present Dashboard Icons

    1. Three icons at the top define specifications

      1. Single Line Editor for Substations

      2. Process editor: 61850 specification of general electrical systems

      3. Application Editor for data exchange

    2. Namespace editor allows users to create their own namespaces

  3. Use Incomer to explain

    1. SCL Hierarchy

    2. Function Specification Diagram

      1. Bay Functions

      2. Equipment Functions

      3. Explain Signal List

      4. Virtual IED

      5. Show IED from specification option

      6. Create Distance Protections

        1. Explain Namespace files

        2. Add PDIS and Zone, copy PDIS change Zone (Z1:PDIS, Z2:PDIS)

        3. Add to Library and create second instance

        4. Delete all the Distance Functions and close the diagram

    3. On the Single line show Add Bay to Library (do not execute)

  4. Instantiate 3 Feeders (02,03,04)

  5. Instantiate second Incomer

  6. Show MMS Report specification (Client Functions)

  7. GOOSE Specification

    1. Create ReverseBlocking Template only for Bay 02 and 01.

    2. (you can add 03, 04 and 05 bays and save and skip step 13 to save time)

  8. Show options of Import Dialog

  9. Show System Diagram

    1. explain IED instances and IED context menu

    2. Explain Subnet and Subnet connection

  10. Instantiate J02BCU ( Siemens)

  11. Show Automatic Mapping

    1. Open Bay 03 and Bay 04 in Parallel

    2. Implement IEDs

    3. Explain Signal List with mappings and IED Type Mappings

  12. Create SCL Configuration

    1. Show Reports and GOOSE in Communication Editor

  13. Application Templating

    1. Delete Manual Reversblocking

    2. Create ReverseBlocking from Application

      1. Assign Blocking Role to bay 02, 03, and 04

      2. Assign Blocked Role to Incomer 01 and 05

    3. Show resulting Application scheme in editor

    4. OR, use the reverse blocking template you made and add bays 03, 04, 05 as publisher and subscribers

  14. Rerun SCL Configuration

    1. Show GOOSE in Communcation Editor

  15. Export SCD

  16. Show GOOSE Inputs in SCD

  17. Run and Show Documentation
